Don’t you just love the incisive clarity of the highest-paid woman politician in the world, our very own Lady Ashton?
You just couldn’t sum up the current situation in Egypt more succinctly, sending a stark and unambiguous warning to Mubarak. She may be paid twice as much and more as our own Foreign Secretary, but it’s clearly money well spent (even if just to keep her out of England):
Asked if the EU would urge embattled President Hosni Mubarak to step down, EU foreign policy chief Baroness Ashton said:
“We’ve been very clear in everything that we’ve said, that it’s for the Egyptian people and the Egyptian government to move forward together.”
